There are people who write and who write well. There are people who write, who write well, and who also reach beyond their own words in order to create a sense of community among writers. Deborah Bryan, the author of the blog, The Monster in Your Closet, is such a person. Deborah has an ongoing series titled “For This I am Thankful (FTIAT),” in which she invites other bloggers to contribute. My post is featured on her blog today. Enjoy. And after you have read my post, read her other posts. You will be as hooked on her words as I am.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful Renee. I can smell the ocean and feel the fears of those children. I understand my own dear Mother even better now. We are so fortunate with our lives that sometimes hand us those oh so insignificant hurdles. Thank you my friend! Love

So many of our parents and grandparents endured challenges that we can’t even imagine. There’s not a day that goes by that I’m not grateful for their courage.

Thank you so much for sharing your moving words over on TMiYC, and these words here. Even with the sniffling, sneezing and general stuffy-headedness claiming a great deal of my head, there’s still room for a whole lot of gratitude–and I’m using every bit of it, thanks to you!

My gratitude goes your way. You do something so special by allowing other writers to have a format on your blog. Your generosity of spirit is one of your many gifts.

I’m here because of Deb. I commented on her blog, but I wanted to let you know here that you’ve rendered me almost speechless. Almost.
