Life in the Boomer Lane is in London to celebrate the first birthday of First Grandchild. Like any besotted grandmother, she believes her grandchild walks on water (or he would, if he walked). On her last trip to London, she tried to smuggle him through Customs between France and the UK. She has decided not to attempt anything illegal on this trip, merely confining herself to minor mishaps.
On her first day, she took FG to Regent’s Part and returned without the diaper bag. Beloved Daughter detailed all of the non-replaceable items in the bag. LBL was just happy to remember to have returned the baby.
In preparation for The Big Event (the first birthday) LBL filled what I thought was a whale-shaped cake mold that I had purchased and popped it in the oven. The mold was for ice cream. Ice cream molds don’t do well in ovens. This one quickly started to look like a very depressed whale.
LBL has one week left of the visit. She will keep repeating: keys. cell phone. wallet. baby. But probably not in that order.

I’m new to your blog and books but definitely interested. My fifty-first birthday is next week and rapidly approaches regardless of my heels leaving tread marks all the way. I haul your speaking out for those of us past the half-century mark!

Thanks, JoDee! Life after 50 is amazing, and the world needs to know that.
