Peg, of Peg-o-Leg’s Ramblings, is one of those bloggers who regularly knocks me down to size, which is completely depressing since I am 5’1″ tall and usually totter around in high heels and big hats so no one notices. Except they do anyway. Back to Peg. Every time I write one of my world class, priceless posts and sit back to receive the accolades, Peg writes one of hers which is often just as funny (or, damn, funnier) AND she uses TECHNOLOGY to doctor photos and illustrations to make her legions of followers howling in delight.
To make matters even worse, she is like the Mother Teresa of the blogging world, giving other bloggers clever formats to promote their work. Her latest is called “THIS One Should Have Been Freshly Pressed, ” in which she has, in her words, “invited some of my blogging buddies to select their best, overlooked posts.” She continues, “I had to twist some arms to get them to admit they thought their stuff was worthy of the coveted FP because, while most of these people are way more talented than I, they’re also a lot more modest. She plans to run a post by a different blogger every Wednesday.
Note: To show my own embarrassing lack of modesty, I was the first blogger to send her a post. So if you go to her site now (drop everything else you are doing–it’s not that important), you will see a post I wrote last May. So thank you Peg. I really am honored. And farklempt. And not pissed off. I just wrote that to get your attention.
Be sure to check out Peg’s blog, to see some of the best material around the interwebz.

Oh, Jeepers. Everyone keeps telling me, “You’re going to be FPed any day now! It’s right around the corner!” I am still looking and it is a darned long corner! LOL

It will happen, and then you will know what winning the Oscar and the Pulitzer and the Nobel Prize all at once feels like. Except you won’t have to get out of your pajamas to accept it.

I find myself to be very curious about you. This post is such a contradiction of modesty and pompousness that it reads like a self-esteem roller coaster. I think maybe we have some things in common…

You got my number, PMAO, now causing me to go into an emotional tailspin over the word “pompousness.” Excuse me while I look for something bad to eat and head for a dark closet.

I could have said ‘pompitous’ like that Steve Miller song…

Just so you know, I rarely use big words in the comment boxes because the spell checker doesn’t work there, and I just end up looking stupid, but I am on a borrowed computer that puts a red line under the bad spelling, so I just keep changing the letters until the line goes away…

There are many of your posts which should be FP’d. Just sayin’.

Can you apply for a job with WordPress? But seriously, I’m honored. There are so many great posts from people that never make it to FP.

Congratulation! I’ve made a few attempts to read the FP’s and never managed to finish them. Not to my taste, anyway. I like yours way better. 🙂

Thanks, Jean. I’ve had that reaction, as well. I sometimes scratch my head at what was chosen. On the other hand, I’m sure people have read my FP’d pieces and scrated their head at mine!

That’s when you know you are uniquely you. You are not a be-all-for-all. 🙂

After reading that post, I had to come over and get on the Rene Band Wagon. Still waiting for my own Now Husband to find me… hoping I’ll find a map over here, or at least live vicariously off your love-scraps.

Thanks, Sandy Sue. I am honored. I write a lot of posts about my friend Susan’s hapless quest to find love (Sex and the Sixty Year Old), but the truth is that there are a lot of great guys out there. Damn, I should write a series about that.

I keep meaning to send her a post, but then there’s this clash in my brain of “oh, none of my posts should get more attention” and “ALL of my posts should be freshly pressed!”

My vote is for the second. You should have the designation “Permantly Freshly Pressed.” Seriously.

Second that. And you’ve got plenty of time to send me something – I’ll remind you in a few weeks if I have to.
